Expanding Girls' Horizons in STEM
In a world where innovation is shaping our future, ensuring that young women have access to opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) is more critical than ever. That’s why Expanding Girls' Horizons in Science and Engineering Month is so important—it highlights the need to inspire and support the next generation of female innovators. At Propel Technologies, we are passionate about bridging the gender gap in STEM fields, which is why we proudly sponsor Rocketing Girls Into Robotics, a groundbreaking program that empowers young girls to explore robotics, engineering, and coding.

Empowering Girls Through Robotics
The Rocketing Girls Into Robotics program, run by Project Bucephalus, provides young girls with hands-on experience in designing, building, and programming robots. Through a combination of mentorship, teamwork, and real-world applications of STEM concepts, this initiative is transforming how girls perceive their potential in technology-driven careers. Propel Technologies’ sponsorship ensures that more girls in the Illawarra region have access to these resources, fostering confidence and technical skills that can shape their futures.
By actively participating in this program, young women not only learn about robotics but also develop essential problem-solving and collaboration skills. The initiative has already seen remarkable success, with girls demonstrating their abilities at national and international competitions. Our support helps break down barriers and encourages young women to consider STEM as a viable and exciting career path.
Natalie’s Commitment to Mentorship
Beyond our sponsorship, Propel Technologies takes an active role in mentoring future leaders. Our director, Natalie, plays a key role in mentoring a team of young ladies competing in the FIRST Lego League Challenge. This global competition challenges students to build and program LEGO robots to complete complex missions while developing innovative solutions to real-world problems.
Natalie has been deeply involved in the team’s journey, guiding them through the build stages, sharing industry knowledge, and offering hands-on support at competition events. Her mentorship provides these young girls with a firsthand look at what a career in STEM can offer, reinforcing the idea that they belong in these fields and can excel in them.
Why STEM Matters
Investing in STEM education for young women is crucial for fostering innovation, diversity, and progress. Currently, women remain underrepresented in STEM careers, and initiatives like Rocketing Girls Into Robotics are helping to change that narrative. By exposing girls to engineering, programming, and robotics early on, we create a pipeline of talent ready to take on the challenges of the future.
Propel Technologies: Driving Change for the Future
At Propel Technologies, we believe in more than just providing IT solutions—we believe in shaping the future of technology by investing in the next generation. Our support for Rocketing Girls Into Robotics and Natalie’s hands-on mentorship in the FIRST Lego League Challenge demonstrate our commitment to empowering young women in STEM.
As we celebrate Expanding Girls' Horizons in Science and Engineering Month, we encourage businesses and individuals alike to support programs that make a difference. If you’re passionate about fostering change and closing the gender gap in STEM, join us in championing these incredible young innovators.
